You always feel great when you have helped out someone. The Western Slope Volunteer Management Association's goal is to help organizations in their search for volunteers and educate volunteer Managers across the Western Slope.

We are blessed here on the Western Slope with many non-profit volunteer organization who's goal is to make a part of life better for everyone. The Western Slope Volunteer Management Association was created to help out these groups and volunteer managers with their missions.

The mission of the WSVMA is clear:

Those that work with volunteers know that volunteer management can be a very rewarding and challenging endeavor. As a volunteer manager or coordinator it’s vital to have an association of peers to share challenges and victories with and to ultimately learn new skills from. Join our association and become a better leader in volunteer management.

Many of the groups that benefit from working with the WSVMA include Mesa County Partners, CASA of Mesa County, Homeward Bound of the Grand Valley, the Western Colorado Suicide Prevention Foundation, and others. If you would like to work with the WSVMA to help your organization do a better job of helping those in need, contact Joy at 970-683-5897 or at their website, and follow them on Facebook.

Volunteer Managers are welcome to attend their monthly meeting to find out more. They meet on the forth Wednesday of the month, except for December, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at one of the member's place of business. Membership is currently free for all qualifying organizations on the Western Slope.

If you are looking for a great volunteer opportunity, the 211 website help you get set up with a group that shares your interests. You can also call 211 from your phone to get the same information.
