I've heard of some pretty ridiculous excuses to get out of work, but faking your own kidnapping puts it over the top. How do you even go about faking your own kidnapping? This lady in San Antonio, Texas was found by police at about 6:15pm tied up inside her car. The police untied her and asked her what happened. Her story was that she was at an ATM and had been abducted at knife point by a man who asked her to drive him around town. She said she thinks it was drug deals. The man apparently abused her, choked her and left her in the car tied up.

Police believed her until they found a lottery ticket that was bought during the hours she said she was abducted. When they looked at the surveillance tapes at the store she bought the lotto ticket, it showed her under no distress, and chatting happily with the clerk. When they checked the surveillance tape at the ATM it showed her by herself as well under no distress.

The police confronted her about it and she finally spilled the beans. She was just looking for a little attention and wanted to have a day off from work. What ever happened to "Hey boss, I have diarrhea and I can't make it in?" She is being charged with Aggravated Perjury and for being a Nincompoop in the News.
