If 4th Street downtown Grand Junction is part of your morning commute, it would be a good idea to get an early start Tuesday (September 18) due to road construction.

According to Sam Rainguet from the City of Grand Junction, waterline replacement work along Grand Avenue will require the closure of 4th Street at Grand Avenue.  The closure will start at 7 a.m. and will only impact drivers traveling south on 4th Street. Drivers on 4th will be diverted at Gunnison Avenue and will be detoured to either 7th Street or 1st Street.

Traffic along Grand Avenue will still be one lane in each direction just as it has been during the course of this project.

The closure is expected only on Tuesday and the intersection may be opened before 5 p.m.
