If you are one of the millions of Americans who struggle to sleep at night, you should be interested in the most bizarre cures for insomnia ever.

I'm one of the lucky ones who generally doesn't have any trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep. However, the other night, after telling my wife I would be asleep in five minutes, it was more than an hour before sleep came.

I was happy to finally get to sleep because I wasn't too thrilled about trying out one of these strange remedies for insomnia from calm.com. It used to be we just counted sheep to help get us to sleep. Nothing as weird as these strange cures.

The ear wax idea apparently goes back to the 15th century. Folks have been doing it for centuries, though I don't know any of them personally. In fact, I don't know anyone who has ever tried any of these insomnia remedies. At least they have never admitted to it.

March 10 is Insomnia Awareness Day. I'm sure if you suffer from insomnia you are pretty well aware of it but you are not alone. About 40% of the adult population in the U.S. suffers from insomnia at least occasionally.
