2024 seemed like an endless list of national chain stores and restaurants announcing closures and consolidations. We've seen favorites like Big Lots and Red Lobster move out of Grand Junction, and have seen companies announce closures who have yet to release a complete list of locations that are closing their doors.

It's a time of uncertainty for many of America's chains that are here in Colorado. The latest department store to announce nationwide closings is Kohl's. Is Grand Junction's Kohl's location in danger of closing?

A Kohl's press release on January 9th of 2025 details the closing of 27 Kohl's stores nationwide, along with the San Bernardino E-commerce Distribution Center. The Press Release lists the communities that will be losing Kohl's stores (including Colorado), with California closing the highest number of stores (10). According to the press release, these stores are to close by April 2025.

What About Western Colorado Locations?

The January press release from Kohl's includes one Colorado location that will be closing this spring. That store is located at Arapahoe Crossing in Aurora, Colorado at 6584 S Parker Rd.
