Last month I told you about the exercise and Mental Strengthening Program I wanted to push myself to accomplish called 75 HARD. It's a concept that came from Andy Frisella that is described as A tactical Guide to Winning the War with Yourself. I've been working on his program every day for almost three full weeks at this point and it has made a difference.

It hasn't been easy, and to be honest at times it's felt downright exhausting. But not very often do we push ourselves to be the best person we can be and that is exactly why I wanted to do this program. My life is good, but I want to push to be better, I want to be at my best.

What do you have to do in the 75 HARD program?

The concept is pretty simple there are only 5 things that you must do daily:

  • Consume 1 standard gallon of water per day. Water only, no additives, no fruit, just water.
  • Perform two daily workouts. Minimum of 45 minutes each spaced out no less than 3 hours apart, and one MUST be outdoors no matter the weather.
  • Self-developmental reading. You must read a minimum of 10 pages per day. Taking notes after reading is suggested.
  • Follow a diet. Print it out. Do not Deviate. Not even once.
  • A daily progress picture has to be taken.

How was my first 20 days doing 75 HARD?

My first week felt like a "honeymoon" phase, I was up ready to tackle each workout before 4:00 a.m. But eventually, the exhaustion set in but now it just feels like part of my normal routine. Drinking a gallon of water isn't as bad as I thought it would be but you have to chug early in the day or you will be up going to the bathroom all night (trust me). You must stay organized or you will forget to take a progress picture and have to start over from day one. I've enjoyed the nightly reading, and the diet part is not fun but easy to accomplish if you don't tempt yourself.

If you're looking to make a change in your life whether it's physically or mentally, I would suggest 75 HARD and make sure you have an accountability partner who makes sure you don't mess up or have to start over.
