Man, the internet comes up with the dumbest things. This audio clip has "divided" the internet into to fighting sanctions. What is it? Yanny or Laurel?

I'll admit, I listened to this on my phone last night and hear "Yanny." Then, while I was gathering the audio clip just now, it sounds like "Laurel." What. The. Heck?

According to the New York Times, this was originally recorded by a student working on a project who got the audio from vocabulary.com. The original recording is of "Laurel," which is a celebratory wreath worn on the head.

It's amazing the tricks our minds play on us. I've listened and listened and listened to this clip and now all I hear is Laurel.
