My husband & I are big proponents of the right to bear arms as long as it's done legally by responsible, safety oriented folks, of course.

We have personally taken the conceal carry course through our local Action Pistol Group & recommend everyone do so even if they don't plan on carrying. The education you receive could save your life!

With hunting season on the way it's a great time to remind everyone about the great courses you can take to educate you & your family.

The Colorado Hunter Safety Course is required for anyone born on or after January 1, 1949 wanting to purchase a hunting or trapping license.

You can get more information on the Colorado Parks & Wildlife website.

According to the a poll by Harris Interactive more than a third of all U.S. households in 2001 had at least one gun & according to the CDC accidental firearms-related deaths numbered 642 in 2006. That's why everyone including your children should know the rules of gun safety even if you never plan on using one!

The NRA website is a great resource for information & reminds everyone:

1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.

The number one rule as I've always been told is to treat EVERY gun as if it was loaded!
