Yet another Grand Junction business is closing.

Albertson's on 12th street will be closed for good on March 20. About 70 residents employed there will be affected. A spokesperson for the company stated that 'underperformance' as to one of the reasons for this move. Kathy Holland told KKCO NEWS that the company is trying to help those employees find other work.

As far as the Broadway location, there will be a major change there as well. That store will transition into being a Safeway store. Albertson's and Safeway are owned by the same people.

KEKB always did our annual Holiday Food Drive at the 12th street location. The customers and the employees were always great to us. Sad to see the Albertson's name disappear from the Grand Valley.
