Don’t Fall The Romance Scam
If you are dating online and you have never met the person and 3 to 6 months down the road they are asking for money that sends up a red flag. If you have never met the person and after two weeks of talking and one meeting they want to move in with you that is a red flag. I am an honest trustworthy person and too trusting at times. I always give people the benefit of the doubt until they prove me otherwise. I have a friend who has been carrying on a relationship with someone for 5 years and is always sending her money. Seriously they could be a man pretending to be a woman.
- Take it slow no need to rush into things
- If the person says I love you be leary especially if you have only been talking to them a day
- If the person claims to be a U.S. citizen but is working overseas.
- If they ask you to send money
If you think you are being scammed you can do something about it. Contact the Internet Bureau Of Investigation, Internet Crime Complaint.
