After finding NO cancer and taking a week to recuperate from having my ovaries removed, I'm glad to be back! BE WARNED this includes pictures of my insides!!

I want to start off by thanking Britton and Waylon, the staff here at KEKB, not only for their support but for working overtime to split shifts so I could take some time off to recover after my surgery.

I also want to thank all of you for coming to my support either through prayers, food, or donations:

and The End Zone Sports Pub for donating the food for the Spaghetti Fundraiser Britton is organizing for me as well!

Just in case you didn't hear why I was gone for a week and a half, here's the full scoop:

Now for an update:

After meeting with my doctor prior to surgery she decided that due to my family history, (two of my aunts died from ovarian cancer and my birth mother has it), it was probably a good idea to remove my ovaries even if they didn't find traces of cancer.

PRAISE THE LORD, they did NOT find any cancer during the surgery!

However the full pathology report showed endometriosis in both my ovaries and fallopian tubes. According to the Mayo Clinic,

Endometriosis is an often painful disorder in which tissue that normally lines the inside of your uterus — the endometrium — grows outside your uterus.

In endometriosis, displaced endometrial tissue continues to act as it normally would: It thickens, breaks down and bleeds with each menstrual cycle. And because this displaced tissue has no way to exit your body, it becomes trapped. Surrounding tissue can become irritated, eventually developing scar tissue and adhesions — abnormal tissue that binds organs together.

This process can cause pain — sometimes severe — especially during your cycle. Fertility problems also may develop. Fortunately, effective treatments are available.

One of the treatments is a total hysterectomy, so I'm glad the doctor decided to err on the side of caution and remove my oavries and tubes during this surgery.

I'll be honest, relaxing was nice, I watched tons of movies:

  • The Lorax-Eh it's okay
  • Cars 2-Loved it
  • How To Train Your Dragon-My favorite
  • Skyfall-Typical James Bond

Read some great books:

Spent some quality time with my son, and didn't get out of my PJ's for a week and a half, but I'm glad to be back to work, I missed you guys!
