From merlot to pinot, wine is wonderful, and we've got a lot of it in the Grand Valley. These are Grand Junction's favorite kinds of wine.

With Winefest coming up, wine is definitely on my mind. We asked you what your favorite wine is on our Facebook and made a list.

Some of my favorites include pinot, rose and a perfectly curated champagne-like wine -- prosecco. According to our Facebook, here are Grand Junction's favorite kinds of wine.

    Chardonn-heyyy

Theresa Cullen Hofmeister commented on our Facebook and says chardonnay is her favorite kind of wine. Chardonnay is white wine and is the most popular white wine in the world.

    Stop and Smell the Rose

One of my favorite kinds of wine is rose. Rose gets its pretty pink color from the grapes, but it's not dark enough to be considered a red wine. There are all kinds of rose, I think the Dry Rose from Grand River Vineyards.

    You Had Me at Merlot

You made me at merlot, no merlot, don't let go. (I feel like this should be a song.) Laura Hadrath says merlot, which is a red wine, is her favorite kind of wine and she likes it nice and dry.

    Free Fifty Free

Kattura Young commented on our Facebook and says that her all-time favorite kind of wine, hands down, is the free kind. The free fifty free wine really goes down smooth and gives you a peace of mind knowing you didn't pay for it.
