Ann Albright Ph.D., R.D. and director of CDC's Division of Diabetes Translation states that this new research is 'alarming and underscores the need for an increased focus on reducing the burden of diabetes in this country.' She goes on to say that this disease is 'costly in both human and economic terms.'
