KEKB would like to offer our condolences to a remarkable artist and wonderful human being, Richard Sterban, the bass vocalist from the legendary Oak Ridge Boys. Sterban's mother, Victoria, passed away last week at the age of 94. It wasn't that long ago that Sterban took the time to call KEKB to send a message to my dad.

At the time, my dad was in coma in the hospital, following a massive heart attack. Richard Sterban had heard about it via his road manager, and made the effort to call me at the KEKB studio with this message:

Richard Sterban calls the KEKB studio - February 2013

To Richard Sterban: the Jordan family, as well as the KEKB family and our listeners, would like to offer you our condolences at this difficult time. We thank you for 41 years of great music and messages you've shared via the mighty Oaks. We would also like to thank you for being so thoughtful when it comes to your fans. Godspeed our friend.

Here's a song from the Oak Ridge Boys which nails it right on the head.
