The front page of the Daily Sentinel says, "Deejay rides to the rescue", but it was an ENTIRE community that helped replace a local disabled boys bike!

In case you missed the original story about a local boy, Cy's (who'se going blind) adaptive trike, you can check it out here:

What happened next was PHENOMENAL, but not unexpected!

Calls started coming in from people all over the world wanting to know how they could help . . . it took a month to track down a bike that would work from Brown's Cycles, then we published another story asking folks if they could help, check it out:

We have the BEST listeners in the WORLD!

Within four hours on 11/22 we had raised all the funds needed and it came from all over the world!

  • Folks right here in Grand Junction
  • Browns Cyles donated $100 off
  • Bike Owner donated $100 off
  • Kelly in California
  • Bonnie in Texas
  • One man paid off the balance of $472 and MANY others offered to do the same!

The BEST Part:

  • One of our donors, an administrator at a local construction company, has a little girl suffering from the same degenerative eye disease as Cy and will eventually be blind as well. Since this story came out both families have united to share their experience and support!

The bike is now ready and we will be picking it up Tuesday afternoon to hand deliver it to Cy!

But that's NOT all!

In addition to helping Cy, you guys have also helped raise:

  • Over 80 pounds of candy for the troops
  • Over 670 coats for the community
  • Over 277 turkeys for the community Thanksgiving dinner
  • And raised over $3,500 for over 65 kids kids to participate in life skills activities through our "Grant A Wish" Program!

Thank YOU For All You Do!
