Today, April 24th, marks what would have been actress Jill Ireland's 77th birthday. Take a look back at a remarkable career and her immortal role as the only person who could melt Mr. Spock's cold Vulcan heart.

Jill Ireland was born April 24th, 1936, in London. Over the course of her career, she became identified as being the love interest for two of Hollywood's most cool and rugged men: her real life husband, Charles Bronson, and Star Trek's Mr. Spock.

Of course, Ireland's romantic affiliation with Mr. Spock was only onscreen, while her marriage to Charles Bronson lasted till her death in 1990.

Check out Jill Ireland in the Star Trek episode "This Side of Paradise" as Leila Kalomi, the only person in the cosmos who could make Mr. Spock smile.

Near as we can tell, she was the only person who could make Charles Bronson smile as well.

Come to think of it, Charles Bronson seem to look very much alike.

Ireland died from Breast Cancer in her Malibu, California, home on May 18, 1990. To pay tribute to Jill Ireland, you can visit her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6751 Hollywood Boulevard.
