Bump, set and spike your way into helping a future cop. The scholarship was created in honor of Mesa County's Deputy Geer who was killed in the line of duty in February.

A volleyball tournament is being hosted at Volley's on Saturday, October 23 at 1pm to help raise money for future cops. The tournament is 6v6 and coed. It's $60 per team and all of the proceeds will go to the Derek Geer Memorial Scholarship Fund. Beer and food will also be available for purchase, courtesy of Volleys.

The teams must consist of at least one girl. If there are two or more girls on the team, the coed rule applies that a girl must touch the ball before it goes over the net.

The Deputy Geer Scholarship is intended to provide financial support to an academy student who shows the same compassion, dedication, and spirit as Deputy Geer did.
