Unfortunately, there are quite a few people in the Grand Valley that struggle to put food on the table, and it's even more unfortunate during the holidays. However, one local church is helping out those less fortunate this holiday season.

The Clifton Christian Church, located at 3242 F 1/2 Road in Clifton decided that they wanted to make sure the hunger gap in Mesa County was minimal this year, passing out nearly four hundred food boxes to the less fortunate in our community.

The boxes contained things like turkeys, potatoes, and fruit, and were passed out to anyone in need. Plus, it was reported that one person donated 600 turkeys to the cause all on their own.

It's easy to forget that there are a lot of people that may not be as lucky as you and I, and it's examples like this that really solidify that we as a community have big hearts here in Mesa County.

While this is such a nice gesture of kindness from the Clifton Christian Church, it's nothing new from them. In fact, their food bank is open all year round. Plus, in addition to food assistance, they also have a clothing program for the less fortunate as well. The Clifton Christian Church's food and clothing program is open every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
