Grand Junction Beard Club Selling Hilarious Calendar for Charity
A Grand Junction club called Western Slope Whiskers is selling a calendar full of bearded beauties for charity. The Western Slope Whiskers club started a couple of years ago because of a bunch of bearded guys that were hanging out wanted to start a club. The two big things they do every year are their annual calendar and the Beard Rally at the Fruita Fall Festival.
We spoke with Matt Janson, who's a member of the club and their photographer, and he said they started their calendar full of bearded beauties in 2019 and gave away all of the proceeds from their calendar to The House, which is a charity here in Grand Junction. The House's mission is to help underprivileged youth get back on their feet to end youth homelessness.
The Western Slope Whisker's club's overall goal is to have fun and to use their funds to give back to their community. All of their pictures in their calendar match the month for example, for January there's a bunch of bearded men tobogganing down the hill, for February there's a huge Cupid, and for April there's a bearded man in an Easter bunny suit.
The calendar is all about bearded men, but they are two women in the calendar. One of which uses their dreadlocks as their beard. The calendar all started because of a drunken conversation and is a hilarious calendar for a great cause.
Some of the members in the Western Slope Whiskers club are Aaron Siebert, who's the lead singer of Jack + Jill and Matt Janson, who's a commercial and corporate photographer. Matt says that the Western Slope Whiskers club calendar is one of his favorite things to shoot. It allows him to be very creative and have fun.
