The Mesa County Sheriff's Office is familiar with rounding up criminals and hauling them off to jail. Every once in a while, a roundup doesn't involve the bad guys.

Every Mesa County Sheriff's Deputy will tell you they've responded to a lot of unusual calls. This deputy got caught on video herding a cow down the side of the road until it could safely be returned to pasture. That's much better than the bovine being prematurely turned into hamburger when hit by a car.

With no horse to hop on nearby, the deputy had to use the tools at hand, namely his patrol vehicle and lights. While I didn't get to speak with this deputy personally, when asked about things like this, other deputies have said it's just a part of serving the community.
