To drink or not to drink has been the question for as long as I've been drinking coffee. It's good for you. It's bad for you. It will kill you. It will help you live longer. It causes this. It prevents this. Help!!!!!! Somebody please stop the voices! My attitude about coffee is probably the same as a lot of smokers. I've been drinking coffee for over 30 years and I'm not about to stop now. I enjoy it too much. I don't care what the risks or dangers are. Give me my cup of joe!

Having said that, however, I have to admit I am certainly encouraged by the words of nutritionist Keri Glassman, who often shares her expertise on Access Hollywood.

Keri says that coffee in moderation (there's that darn word) can offer some great health benefits. Turns out it's a great source of anti-oxidants, and can increase endurance when consumed before a work out. She also says coffee has been shown to decrease some of the bad affects of smoking and drinking - neither of which apply to me. Glassman also says there is an association between coffee drinking and a lower risk of diabetes, Parkinson's, and some cancer.

Of course, next week the news will probably change and they will be telling us that drinking coffee will take years off your life. But, for now, I'm going to hold on to Keri's words and enjoy my daily diversion without trepidation. And if the news changes, don't tell me. I don't want to know. Let me enjoy my coffee in peace.
