Emergency crews are responded to a rock-slide on Highway 65 near Highway 330 yesterday, find out if the road is still closed here.

Update:

  • According to a listener close to the source, the highway will be closed into this evening because they can't get a geologist over the mountain from Denver to look at it before then.
  • Another listen is reporting that the roads over the DeBeque cutoff are wet, but there is no snow.

Channel 11 News is reporting that officials with the Colorado Department of Transportation has closed Highway 65 near Highway 330 due to a rock-slide is blocking traffic.

According to CDOT, the rock-slide is large enough that it will require blasting to get off the highway.

We have a crew on the way but haven't heard any information about any vehicles being involved in the slide.

Crews are asking that the interstate shut down at exit 49 to allow emergency vehicles to get to the area.
