The next two weekends you are invited to the Halloween Happenings at Highline Lake with Colorado Parks and Wildlife. There will be great events for kids of all ages happening both Friday and Saturday nights.

On Friday, October 21 you are invited to come out and learn about all the creepy crawlies of Halloween and why we really don't need to be afraid of them. Afterward, there will be a great Halloween movie with popcorn and apple cider to enjoy.

Saturday, October 22 they are holding a Monster Mash carnival and party for kids of all ages. The event starts at 4:00 p.m. and will include a ton of activities including worm eating contest, brain toss, face painting and more.

On Friday, October 28, they will again have the Creepy Crawlies presentation and a Halloween movie with popcorn and apple cider to enjoy.

Finally, on Saturday, October 29, they will celebrate Halloween with another Monster Mash carnival. The event starts at 4:00 p.m. and will include a ton of activities including three-legged monster race, best scream contest, face painting, a costume parade and more.

All of these programs are free for all,  but each vehicle entering the park must display either a valid Annual Pass or a day pass, which you can get for $7, on the windshield. Call the park at 970-858-7208 for more information or visit their website or Facebook pages. Highline Lake is located in the northwestern part of the Grand Valley, find your way there here.
