A body was found near Mount Garfield in Grand Junction on Wednesday, November 13. The deceased has been identified as Harry Oxford from Palisade.

Unfortunately, a man passed away on the book cliffs near Mount Garfield recently. according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, a body was found on the Book Cliffs east of Mt. Garfield on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

A man from Palisade has been missing since late October/early November and people have been searching for him. After finding a car in the Coal Canyon area, the deceased was sadly identified as Harry Oxford from Palisade. He was 42 years old.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, people last heard from Harry on October 31. Harry Oxford was reported missing to the Palisade Police Department on November 8.

People searching for Harry found a car that looks like it went over a cliff in the Coal Canyon area, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. Because of the car's location, which was very remote, Mesa County Sherrif's Deputies, Mesa County Search and Rescue volunteers and Centurylink's helicopter helped recover his body.

It's heartbreaking to hear that Harry Oxford was found this way. According to the Mesa County Sherriff's Office, the case is still under investigation, but nothing suspicious is suspected at this time.

We're not sure how Harry passed away but this is a reminder that life is short and unpredictable. Our thoughts are with Harry's family and friends during this tragic time.
