Grand Junction’s ‘Spirit of Christmas’ Celebration Returns December 13th
There's nothing like a little holiday shopping to help you catch the Christmas spirit. Especially when you visit downtown Grand Junction during the 'Spirit of Christmas' shopping event that is coming up on December 13th. The video above captures some of the fun moments from last year's event, and this year's shopping day downtown will be even bigger and better.
My own family is spread out through 3 different states so that means the days of waiting until December 22nd or 23rd just will not do. For me, shopping needs to be done ahead of time with plenty of time to ship gifts back to the midwest and down south. By December 13th, I'll be more than ready to hit downtown. Even that may be cutting it close.
The shops downtown will stay open until 8 p.m. on December 13th, and be sure to keep an eye out for the locations serving up complimentary holiday beverages and offering free tasty treats while you shop.
You'll find all kinds of live entertainment in the shops located downtown. You can enjoy carriage rides with your family, and even line up for a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus if you didn't get the chance to see old St. Nick after the Grand Junction Christmas Tree lighting. Let's face it, lots of people still had the flu the weekend of the Christmas Tree lighting and are looking forward to a chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas now that they are feeling better. 'Spirit of Christmas' will be the perfect chance to do that.
Being an Uncle of 4 I have nephews who are 12 and 8, and nieces who are 9 and 7. I'm always up for new ideas so if you have found a gift idea that is super-amazing I'd love to hear what things your little ones have their eyes on so I can get them in the mail in time for the big day. Fun gift ideas in the comments on social media are always welcome!
