Grand Junction’s Newest Sports Bar Opens Next Week
Look out Grand Junction, a new downtown sports bar and music venue is coming your way, and it opens in exactly one week.
A number of awesome venues have made their way to 5th Street over the last few years, and one more is getting ready to open their doors.

Food, Drink, Sports, and More
Please make welcome Skorz Sports Bar & Grill of Downtown Grand Junction. They'll be open for business before you know it. According to the sign in the window, they will offer:
- Quality food, drinks, and service
- Live sports and UFC fights
- Live bands
- LED lounge area
- Space for private functions
Festivities Will Commence Next Week
I spoke with the owners/manager online yesterday, and they offer the date of Thursday, September 9, 2021, as opening day for the venue.
This date is a little later than what had originally been posted. In early August a Facebook post stated the venue would open in late August.
Searching for Bands and DJ's
Skorz posted an ad on Western Slope Classified Ads on Tuesday, August 31. The ad reads:
Hello, everyone! I’m Mackenzie, event organizer at Skorz, an upcoming bar and lounge in Downtown Grand Junction. I’m looking for bands, solo artists, and DJ’s that are interested in performing at our location!
Now We're Talkin'
I, for one, am excited to hear about another Grand Junction venue offering live music. It's starting to look as though live entertainment is on the rebound in this town. If you're a local performer looking for a new room, this is your cue.
In the last few weeks, we've posted about several new businesses opening in Grand Junction. Moody's, another downtown bar/restaurant, hit the ground running. People are raving about it. We mentioned a week ago a new bakery specializing in Bundt Cakes would be opening soon on Rimrock Drive. In a few minutes, I'm going to check out the site of another new bakery opening off of North Avenue. Things are really jumping in this town.
Coming Soon to Downtown Grand Junction
Welcome to the neighborhood, Skorz. You'll find them at 122 S. 5th Street, right next to Taco Party. Trust me, you can't miss them. The business features an awesome purple and blue paint job.
Who knows, this could be Grand Junction's next big hangout. Between the sports programming and live music, I'm sure it will be a hit.
