Congratulations to a Grand Junction man. He has been named as the best in his business.

Frank Stepleton now wears the title of 2015 BLM Ranger of the Year.

The Bureau of Land Management has recognized a Grand Junction area native for his outstanding talents and efforts in his field. Frank Stepleton began at the BLM in 2009 as a student intern. He attended Colorado Mesa University where he obtained his degree in Criminal Justice. He was then hired on at the Bureau as a law enforcement ranger in 2012.

You could say there is law enforcement in his blood. His cousin works the Mesa County Sheriff's Office and his mom is none other than the Chief of Police in Fruita. He has also completed two tours of Iraq. With the U.S. Army's 2nd Infantry Division first in Al Anbar from 2004-05, then Baghdad in 2006-07. For his tour in Baghdad he was awarded the Purple Heart.
