According to a press release from the BLM:

Sept. 6th through the 9th-The Grand Junction Field Office will be joining forces with Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado and Centennial Canoe Outfitters for a tamarisk removal project on the Dolores River. The project will include an overnight trip on the Colorado River through gorgeous Ruby Canyon. If you're interested in volunteering contact the Denver VOC Office at 303-715-1010.

Sept. 15th-The Western Slope ATV Association is hosting a cleanup of the North Fruita Desert OHV Area including 25 Road. If you'd like to volunteer contact the Grand Junction Field Office at 970-244-3000.

Sept. 29th-The Grand Mesa Backcountry Horsemen will host a trail project in Rabbit Valley at McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area. To volunteer contact the GJFO at 970-244-3000.

Sept. 29th-Volunteers are also needed for Cleanup at the 27 1/4 Road Shooting Range. To sign up contact: Fran Parker at 970-244-3031.

Sept. 29th -The Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association will be taking care of the Palisade Rim Trail. About six sections of the trail need rock work some could use improvements. More volunteers are needed in order to complete the trail work in just one day. Contact the GJFO to register at 970-244-3000 or

Sept. 29th- The Great Old Broads for Wilderness Grand Junction Chapter and the Western Colorado Climbers Coalition are hosting a cleanup of the Rock Garden Bouldering Area. Volunteers should arrive by 8:45 am with their own gloves, protective clothing, water, sunblock and sunglasses.

And finally Sept. 29th-The BLM is hosting a Public Lands Festival consisting of a variety of educational and recreational experiences designed to acquaint children, youth, and their families with public lands at the Bangs Canyon Trail Head.
