Grand Junction Crowns Its Best Chocolate Chip Cookie 2020
Just last week we celebrated Chocolate Chip Cookie Day. For those of us who don't get out much, it was difficult to decide where to go in Grand Junction to find the best chocolate chip cookie. I asked you to vote for GJ's finest. The results are in, and this is Grand Junction's cookie champion.
According to Holiday Insights, this "holiday" falls every August 4. While many choose to celebrate, in reality, the event is not backed by any Congressional records or presidential proclamations. It's one of those silly little events many choose to observe.
To what degree are chocolate chip cookies a part of the American way of life? According to Holiday Insights, the average American eats 18,928 cookies over the course of a lifetime. Granted, not all of those are chocolate chip. According to the Huffington Post, chocolate chip cookies are by far America's number one cookie of choice.
You may be thinking, "Hey, haven't they run this survey before?" Yes, we have. Last year we conducted a survey asking you where one could find the best chocolate chip cookie in Western Colorado. The results for 2019, per your votes, were:
- The Baker's Boutique
- Be Sweet on West Main
- Homestyle Bakery
- Spoons
- Trailhead Coffee
Why did we run it again? Well, off the top of my head, I can think of at least three new bakeries that have opened in Grand Junction in the last year. In all fairness, it seemed reasonable to run the survey again.
After a week of voting, the results are in, and it appears we have a new champion. Not surprisingly, the new Grand Junction chocolate chip cookie champion is one of the recently opened bakeries in town. Per your votes, here are the top five choices for GJ's finest chocolate chip cookie.
Congratulations Crumbl Cookies. Grand Junction has spoken, and they voted you the best in the valley. I have to admit I have yet to try your product. I purchased a variety box from you the day you opened, but that was given as a gift. It seems a trip to your store is overdue.
Coming in 2nd is another fairly new bakery in town, Be Sweet. Rounding out the top five are last year's champion, The Baker's Boutique, followed by Homestyle Bakery and Main Street Bagels.
Thanks to all who voted. These surveys really come in handy. In addition to pointing cookie connoisseurs in the right direction, your write-in votes alerted us to bakeries some were not aware of.
