Polis, among other Colorado organizations, have urged residents to stay home during the upcoming snowstorm which could bring significant snowfall to the state.

During a virtual conference, Jared Polis said "You don't want to be one of those people to be searched down and rescued" and to "use your common sense. If it starts to snow, it's going to get worse before it gets better." according to CBS Denver.

15 to 25 inches could be expected in the Denver Metro area through the course of the upcoming snowstorm. Areas of Northern Colorado could see up to 30 inches in the areas of Loveland, Fort Collins, and Boulder.

Currently, many of the counties on the Front Range are under a Winter Storm Warning from the National Weather Service. The Warning is in effect from Friday morning through 6 a.m. Monday.

Both the Colorado Department of Transportation and the Colorado State Patrol says that if there is not an emergency, you should stay home for your safety and others.
