Fireworks Highlight Grand Junction’s Weekend Events

The Colorado Mesa Mavericks have wrapped up their fourth straight conference title with one weekend remaining in the regular season before the RMAC Tournament and the NCAA Regional. The Mavs play two doubleheaders this weekend against Colorado Mines beginning at 3:30 on Friday, and 1:00 on Saturday. Game #2 on Friday is a seven inning game, starting at 7:00 with a fireworks display to follow, sponsored by Ed Bozarth-Mark Miller Chevrolet.

The 35th annual Cinco De Mayo celebration will take place in downtown Grand Junction on Saturday from 10am until 10pm. The festival will take place on Main Street between 5th Street and 7th Street featuring vendor booths, food, and live entertainment. Here's the event schedule.

The Rose Hill Rally is a benefit bike ride for the Rose Hill Hospitality House, an accommodation facility for patients at St. Mary's Hospital. Walk-up registration begins at 7:00am at Canyon View Park. Get more details here.

A family-friendly belly dance dinner/show to raise money for Latimer House. The evening includes a Mediterranean Style Dinner along with dance performances from novice to expert levels.

Travel back to simpler times and discover the quiet ambiance of Cross Orchards Historic Site. There will be historic demonstrations, baby farm animals, blacksmithing  and much more.  You'll find Cross Orchards at 3073 F Road in Grand Junction.

There is a street dance on Friday, and the festival will be held Saturday  from Noon – 6:00 P.M. at Palisade Memorial Park. Rain or shine. Vendors, food, brew samples, local wine for sampling, and live entertainment by The Goodman Band, Led Stetson, and Uranium Blues will fill the day. Admission will be charged for general public and for brewery tasting.

This is the annual walk to benefit the National MS Society and is being held at Canyon View Park. The walk begins at 7:30am.

A wine-tasting event featuring international, national, and local wines, plus food, dessert, and a silent auction.This is the Junior Service League’s main fundraising event.
