January 8th, 1935 was a great day. It was the day the King, Elvis Presley, was born. January 8th, 1946 was another great day. That date marks the event that forever changed the world of music.

Elvis, like most other kids turning 11, really wanted a bike or a rifle for his birthday. Instead, his mother Gladys gave him a $6.95 guitar purchased at Tupelo Hardware. The rest is history.
