Pikes Peak has been named as Colorado's most breathtaking natural wonder.

Buisnessinsider.com has released a list of each states' most awesome scenery. Pike's Peak, near Colorado Springs, is a vast wonderland that definitely should be on your places you must visit list.

287 miles from Grand Junction, it's worth the trip. Several 14ers are in the area along with a ton of attractions like Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine, North Pol-Santa's Workshop, Seven Falls and Cave of the Winds.

What was news to me is that Pikes Peak was the inspiration for the song "America The Beautiful." This is what the article said about Pike Peak:

COLORADO: Pikes Peak, at the front of the Rocky Mountain Range, was christened "America's Mountain" for its part in inspiring the words to "America the Beautiful."
