Colorado Man Formally Charged in Death of Wife and Kids
Chris Watts, who admitted to killing his pregnant wife and kids last week, is facing five counts of 1st-degree murder and four other felonies.
The Weld County District Attorney's Office formally filed the charges against Watts, 33, on Monday, Aug. 20. He faces the following charges:
- Five counts 1st-degree murder
- One count of unlawful termination of pregnancy
- Three counts of tampering with a deceased body
Chris Watts' wife, Shannon Watts, was found in a shallow grave on the property of one of Colorado's biggest oil and gas drillers belonging to Chris Watts' employerAnadarko Petroleum. Watts' young daughters, four-year-old Bella and three-year-old Celeste were found in an oil well containing crude oil.
Watts is scheduled to be in court on Tuesday (Aug. 21) to be advised on the charges against him.
