]The Mesa County Sheriff's Department shared a message on Facebook saying Grand Valley canals will be shut down to search for a missing girl.

Last night (Oct. 3) the Grand Junction Communication Center received a 911 call about a missing 3-year-old girl. Adelesia, who answers to Addie Rae, was last seen around 6 p.m. on Orchard Avenue between 29 1/2 and 30 Roads.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Department, deputies and family members immediately started searching the area. GJPD's K-9 unit, Colorado State Patrol, and about 20 search and rescue members joined the search.

There will be an emergency shut down of the canals to rule out the possibility of the girl falling into the canal.

The canals affected are:
  • Mesa County Ditch Mainline
  • Independent Ranchman’s ditch
  • Grand Valley Irrigation Company’s Highline Canal
  • Grand Valley Irrigation Company’s Mainline
