Help Stuff the Bus with School Supplies for Grand Junction District 51 Students
While Grand Junction kids are out soaking up every bit of summer, parents are already trying to budget for back-to-school shopping.
Countless caring members of our community are already stepping up to gather school supplies and donations for District 51 students across Mesa County. Stuff the Bus is back, and it’s our chance to lend a hand and support our community as the new school year approaches.
What Is Stuff the Bus?
We love seeing our community partners come together each summer to support students in Mesa County Valley School District 51. Townsquare Media’s family of radio stations in Grand Junction is excited to team up once again with Community Hospitals Grand Valley Pediatrics to help put school supplies into the hands of the teachers and kids who need them.
Beginning July 8th, Student Transportation of America will park our bus at Clock Court inside the Mesa Mall. The windows on the bus remain open all month, allowing everyone to drop off bags of school supplies during mall hours. Walk right up and toss your donations inside.
What School Supplies Are Needed This Fall?
There are two ways for the public to help students get the school supplies they need this fall. The first way is to purchase school supplies and drop them inside the bus at Mesa Mall. Here is a list of school supplies we need:
* #2 pencils
* colored pencils
* markers
* crayons
* notebooks
* notebook paper
* graph paper
* glue sticks
* scissors
* rulers
* pocket folders
* 3-ring binders
* erasers

Where Can I Drop Off School Supplies?
In addition to Mesa Mall, school supplies can be dropped off at both Credit Union of Colorado and Bank of the San Juans.
- Credit Union of Colorado: 202 Main St, Grand Junction, CO 81501
- Bank of the San Juans: 2775 Acrin Avenue (Orchard Mesa Location), 2452 US Hwy 6 & 50 (Valley Plaza Location).

How Can I Donate to the D51 Foundations
If you can't shop or make it to the drop-off locations, another way you can help Mesa County students access the supplies they need is to make a cash donation through the D51 Foundation. These donations are used to buy the specific items needed at each D51 school.
