Bundle up. The 2016-2017 Farmer's Almanac puts the Western Slope and Grand Junction in a freezing pattern.

Looks like we won't break our snowfall of 27 inches from last year, but that doesn't mean we are out of the woods. Just in case you forgot what snow looks like, I took these last year at Stocker Stadium.

Grand Junction borders on three separate zones in the almanac, but they all have a common thread. COLD. More specifically Freezing Cold, Wet and Chilled To the Bone according to their map.

Grand Junction averages around 16 to 19 degrees for winter lows in December and January. We should be ready for those temps to drop.

Overall, the new Farmer's Almanac is predicting a tough, cold, snowy winter for most of the United States. Winter seems to be like Slim Shady. Guess who's back?
