Denver Broncos Help Colorado High Schools

The Denver Broncos Foundation’s “ALL IN. ALL COVERED” initiative helps every high school football program in Colorado. The program will issue Axiom helmets to 277 high schools in the state over the next four years. It's the largest philanthropic investment in Bronco's history.

Each high school will receive enough helmets for 25% of its roster from 2025 to 2028. While the number of helmets issued to each school may be different the number is based on the team’s classification and average number of players/roster size.

Montrose High School Receives $15,000 Donation

For a team like the Montrose Red Hawks, the donation of 21 helmets per season for the next four years amounts to a donation of about $15,000. Each helmet costs between $300 and $500. That's a significant amount of money that the football program will be able to spend in other ways such as travel expenses, or additional equipment.

Why Riddell Axiom Helmets?

So why do the Broncos choose these special helmets to donate to high schools in Colorado, and what makes them so special?

The helmets are made to the same specs as those used in the NFL and are meant to be a custom fit and offer enhanced protection at the point of impact. A built-in monitoring system can track the force of impact and alert coaches to injury in real-time.

MORE: Robert Grant Photos - Classic Images of Western Colorado Football

After years of collecting and digitizing Western Colorado photographer Robert Grant's prints, it was thought they had all been turned over to Grand Junction's Museum of the West. Well, after a little housekeeping over the Labor Day weekend, three more boxes of prints were found.

Today's subject: Western Colorado Football. Since it's almost autumn, why not look back on images of Western Colorado high school and college Football?

These are random images by late Daily Sentinel photographer Robert Grant. I regret that little information was provided, so for the most part, no names or dates are available.
