Baby Formula Still Scarce in Colorado and Parents Are Worried
Any parent in Colorado knows they would do anything to provide for their children, and shortages across the state and country are making that a daily challenge.
Baby formula has been scarce and finding the particular brand your baby needs has been extremely difficult, that's why CouponBirds surveyed parents across the U.S. to find out just what distance they're willing to go to get it.
2022 Brought Challenges to Parents
As if dealing with supply shortages from the COVID-19 pandemic wasn't bad enough, parents were hit with a challenge that tugs right at your heartstrings.
A national baby formula shortage emerged making it incredibly difficult for parents to find vital supplies to nourish their babies.
Colorado Formula Supply Hit Hard
Parents across the U.S. have yet to see a light at the end of the tunnel for this formula shortage. In Colorado, parents watched in horror as more than one-fifth of formula products were out of stock in the six weeks leading up to July 24th.
Following that date, baby formula supply numbers dropped below 60%.
Traveling For Baby Formula in the U.S. and Colorado
CouponBirds asked over 4,000 parents across Colorado and the U.S. just what distance they'd be willing to travel to buy baby formula and found that the average distance in America is 288 miles.
In Colorado, that distance was slightly lower at 272 miles. The state willing to travel the greatest distance is Vermont. Parents in Vermont reported that on average they would be willing to travel 813 miles for baby formula.
A large majority of parents also stated that when they did find formula they were likely to stockpile unnecessary amounts in fear of not being able to come across more.
Be wary of online scams and those looking to triple the price of formula.
