Do you have your Powerball tickets, yet?

Saturday night is another Powerball drawing. A record breaking $700 million is up for grabs.

The odds of winning the upcoming lottery are 1 in 292 million. In fact, here's 10 things that are more likely to happen to you than winning the Powerball.

There are a few thing you can do to increase your odds. According to Scott A. Norris, assistant Professor of mathematics at Southern Methodist University, the first thing is to let the computer choose your numbers. The reason is because people use birthdays. That limits your number choices to 30 or 31, when there are 69 numbers to choose from.

Second, playing multiple tickets can also increase your odds. Not dramatically, Norris said, even if you buy a million tickets, you still probably won't win.

But, if you did, which payment option would you take. The 30 year annual installment plan. Or the one time payment which would be roughly $429 million dollars. Of, course those figures are both before taxes.

If it's your first time paying Powerball, here's how you can find a retailer near you.

Good Luck!
