The Mesa County Library is hosting a mini Comic Con where fans can bask in comics and the culture surrounding them. Whatever shall you wear?

If you are into superheroes, sci-fi, and other comic oriented fascinations, then this event is for you. If your going to do it, then you ought to do it right. Assuming this is your first comic con, how far do you plan to go in order to portray your favorite comic character?

Of course, you could go in plain street clothes, but that would make you a genuine fuddy-duddy, and not a true comics fan. Here are a few helpful suggestions.

The Comic Con is coming to the Central Library at 5th Street and Grand Avenue, running 10AM to 4PM on Saturday, May 2.

Workshops and presentations run from 10AM to 2PM, featuring a costume contest and parade. A screening of the PBS documentary "Superheroes: A Never-Ending Battle" will follow from 2PM to 4PM.

Keep in mind, May 2nd is "Free Comic Book Day" nationwide. In honor of this most magnificent day, free comic books will be available at the Mesa Country Libraries during the event. The Comic Con is open to all ages, and is free of charge.
