Should Judge Gurley decide to charge Deputy Derek Geer's killer as an adult or a juvenile?

The difference is these two choices is huge.

  • If he is to be tried as a juvenile he will be released in about three years.
  • As an adult, it could be 40 years to life behind bars

That's a pretty big gap in punishment for shooting a police officer. The state of Colorado does decree that those over the age of 16 CAN be tried as an adult. This kid was 17 when the incident happened.

Now, it's all in the hands of Judge Richard Gurley.

But, we would like to hear your decision. You are the judge in this case, what do you decide?
