It was 25 years ago yesterday when Trekkies first experienced a massive lump in their throat after watching the train wreck known as "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier." Do you recall your reaction when you first saw what most consider the weakest entry in the Star Trek franchise?

Personally, I liked it. Star Trek V was closest in spirit to the original series, and devoted quality time to the characters and their relationships with one anther. As I've said before, Star Trek is kind of like pizza.... even when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

Unfortunately, the film was plagued by poor production quality, a sub-par villain, and countless examples of forced comedy. Put simply, Shatner directed and contributed to the story. What more does one need to say?

When it is all said and done, I personally feel Star Trek V got a bum wrap. Granted, the optical effects are a little hard to watch. However, if you transpose the original effects with the fan-created updates, the film kind of works.
