The Deputy Derek Geer Unity Ride is coming up this Saturday, April 9, and the weather should be more than accommodating. How does partly sunny with a high of 68 degrees suit you?

Kickstands go up this Saturday morning at 11:00 for this event honoring Deputy Derek Geer. The ride is open to all motorcycles and cars.

 

UPDATE*** - As of 9 am Friday, April 7, the National Weather Service expects a 30% chance of rain on Saturday

The National Weather Service does expect a slight chance of showers. No biggie. Western Colorado doesn't mind a little rain. As a matter of fact, we welcome it.

Make plans to be a part of this historic ride. Registration begins at 10 am at Grand Junction Harley Davidson. Following the ride, you'll find plenty of family-friendly fun. All proceeds go to the Derek Geer Memorial Fund.

Here's the breakdown for Saturday's events:

  • 10:00 am – Registration at Grand Junction Harley Davidson
  • 11:00 am – Kickstands go up
  • All motorcycles and car enthusiasts welcome
  • Prizes awarded for most respectfully decorated motorcycle and car
  • Meet & greet with local law enforcement officers, firefighters, and military personnel.
  • Family friendly after-party at VFW Post 1247 at 1404 Ute Avenue
  • Door prizes
  • Live entertainment

For those who enjoy moderate temperatures, conditions will be absolutely perfect. You say you don't own a motorcycle? The ride is open to car enthusiasts as well, so join in.

VERY IMPORTANT! - Please keep in mind prizes will be awarded for the most respectfully decorated motorcycle and car. Think ahead, and put some heart and soul into your ride's decorations.
