While 2014 really stank overall, I can honestly say it was a great year musically. I had the pleasure of rehearsing, jamming, and performing with a number of remarkable people. Take a look at some of the musical highlights of 2014.

In this video, you'll see images of several musical groups from around Western Colorado. Among those groups: 'The Desert Flyer Band', 'Javier De Los Santos' Mariachi San Jose', 'Rock N' Swing', 'The Frank Bregar Orchestra', 'The Messiah Choral Society of Grand Junction', 'Cool Jazz', and several others.

Also included in the video are images from the week I spent at Victor Wooten's ranch in Only, Tennessee. If you're not familiar with Victor Wooten, look him up. He's considered by most, including myself, to be among the best bass players on the planet.

The week in Tennessee presented the opportunity to meet just about every bass player any of us could ever hope to meet: Stu Hamm, Chuck Rainey, Victor Bailey, Michael Manring, Roy Vogt, and Anthony Wellington. Legendary drummer JD Blair (Shania Twain's band) stopped by, as did drummer Futureman and guitarist Reggie Wooten. Actor Malcolm Jamal Warner also came by the ranch for a few days. You may not have known this, but Warner is a monster bass player, and a really great guy.

As much as 2014 sucked, it really was a great year when it came to playing music. Here's looking forward to a very musical 2015.
