Colorado is home to some amazing animals. With spring here the newly born animals are making their appearance in the world and melting our hearts in the process.

This newly born moose calf was close to its momma in calming greenery when a man was able to capture what happened next.

Billy Gunn lives in Steamboat Springs, according to his Facebook, and he was able to capture the amazing, beautiful moment of a moose calf's first steps.

He said this about the video, "So blessed to live in an area where you can witness Mother Nature’s finest. A calf’s first step."

Colorado’s moose population has grown to nearly 3,000 animals. In recognition of this wildlife phenomenon, the state legislature designated Walden as the "Moose Viewing Capital of Colorado" in 1995, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
