I let our three-year-old play with sparklers this past weekend and one of my "friends" was horrified! Was I in the wrong?

Our son Dalton is generally well behaved, so leading up to and on the 4th of July my husband and I gave him some sparklers and let him go nuts -- supervised of course.

One of my "friends" was aghast, saying that three years old is WAY too young to play with sparklers and fire! I don't know what the big deal is, we were watching the kids the whole time.

If you think that's bad you're gonna love that I give him a big stick to poke the fire with when we're camping.

Did you let your kids play with fireworks on the 4th of July or was I wrong to let my three-year-old play with sparklers?
