Governor Jared Polis recently signed an executive order allowing more health care professionals to give people COVID-19 vaccines. Now veterinarians, dentists, and more are able to administer the coronavirus vaccine.

Now nurses, doctors, and frontline workers aren't the only ones who can give the COVID-19 vaccine in Colorado.

The following health care professionals in Colorado are now able to administer the COVID-19 vaccine, according to 9News:

  • Nurses aids
  • Practical nurses
  • Podiatrists
  • Optometrists
  • Chiropractors
  • Dentists
  • Physical therapists
  • Occupational therapists
  • Veterinarians
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Speech-language pathologists
  • Surgical assistants

There has been a total of 376,171 COVID-19 cases in the state of Colorado. As of Tuesday, January 19, 2021, 20,717 people in Colorado have been hospitalized.

2,301,784 people have been tested for COVID-19 and there have been 4,502 deaths in Colorado. According to 9News, Colorado is currently receiving approximately 70,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine a week. Governor Polis hopes to accelerate the number of COVID-19 vaccinations.

The age group with the highest amount of COVID-19 cases in colorado are people 20-29 years old. The age group with the second-highest amount of coronavirus cases in Colorado are 30-39 years old and the third age group is made up of people 40-49 years old.
