Congratulations are in order for eight Mesa County businesses awarded 5-star ratings from the Mesa County Variance Protection Program.

According to mesacounty.us, the Mesa County Variance Protection Program "...features local businesses in their efforts to implement safe practices related to COVID-19." Yesterday, November 12, 20202, the program added eight more local businesses to the list of recipients of 5-star ratings.

The program is a joint effort between Mesa County Public Health and the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, encouraging area businesses to "implement safety measures that will help slow the spread of COVID 19 locally and allow Mesa County to move forward with reopening efforts needed to help the local economy recover."

Via their official Facebook page, the program listed The eight local businesses "doing their part to protect the community and keep businesses open!

  • Mesa County Public Library
  • Palisade Basecamp RV Resort
  • The Palisade Livery Saloon 2.0
  • Red Fox Cellars
  • Happy Camper Pali

The eight businesses listed above are only the latest to receive the recognition. The list of 5-star recipients includes dozens of local restaurants, fitness facilities, salons, retail services, and public facilities.

Congratulations on the new honorees. If you would like to participate in the program, all you have to do is submit an application form. A Mesa County Public Health representative will drop in at your facility to assess measures related to COVID-19 safety practices.
