I'm looking for a pleasant place to get out and enjoy some fresh air this weekend. Sunday's plans already include a hike up Mt. Garfield, so I'm looking for something simpler and closer. This Grand Junction trail deserves another visit.

It's going to be a busy weekend. Oktoberfest Amped on Saturday, and the hike up Mt. Garfield on Sunday. This leaves only a few hours on Saturday evening to enjoy a walk. Not everything has to be a tromp through the mountains. I'm thinking of something in the valley, preferably not crowded.

If you enjoy peace and quite, scenic waterways, plenty of shade, and a pleasant hike, you should set course for Grand Junction's Monument View trail immediately. It offers all these things, and much more.

The Monument View trail is located just off the Redlands Parkway, just south of the Mesa Mall. You can easily access the trailhead from the Redlands Parkway, Riverside Parkway, Highway 6 & 50, or 24 Road.
